Every year I go to Noordwijk for the KBO. I left Belgium on Friday afternoon together with Christophe Tack to register for the event: 3 days of competition. Unfortunately the wind forecast was very bad. We had sunshine but no wind. The first day we completed 2 rounds of the single elimination. I won the 2 rounds. The 2nd day there was no wind at all. In the morning of the 3rd day, wind was coming, so they decided to start really early! My first heat was at 5 AM! Everybody woke up early but the wind didn’t came. Finally we shared the 1ste place with 8 riders.
My first competition of the year :”Kites on fire!”. This competition is organized in Ostend, Belgium on May first and second. The first day unfortunately there was no wind but the second day in the evening the wind finally picked up! We competed with an expression session. Everybody went on the water at the same time. We all showed our best tricks. I felt really good and my tricks where going pretty well. The jury appreciated my riding the most. I got the first place! Sick! The next competition to attend, will be the KBO in The Netherlands.
Time for a special trip!!
I do not have a schedule. I left Belgium the first week of February and drive south. My goal is to escape freezing Belgium. No easy tropical trip, but I am looking for extreme conditions : big waves, 10 degrees and then try do push the freestyle, waveriding and surfing.I want to learn more about the waves and use them in my advantage. I almost drowned a couple of times this week, but that’s part of the game. I try to hold my breath a little longer
Last week I went to: Hossegor, Biarritz, Zarautz, Laredo, Berria,Oyombre, El mongol, Tapia de Casariego and many more. Maybe I will be heading to Portugal, never been there before or maybe not. I am not sure yet… This trip has already changed a lot of things for me and I learned so many new tricks and new approaches

It has been a long time without update. After Russia I have been home for a while. Just relax a bite and having fun, see my friends and family. Especially my brothers, I like to hang out with them and have fun. Also I have been kiting a lot. We had some south winds with big waves, good for kiting in Wimereux. I had some amazing wave sessions there. My first strapless barrels were so nice! I got more into surfing. When there was no wind but nice swells I went surfing. Had so many sessions with temperatures at -3 degrees. Sounds crazy, but its alright

Some changes for my gear. In 2010 I will ride the Best Nemesis (freestyle) and Kahoona (wave). I changed my boardsponser for 2010. I will ride Balance boards again. Also I will be wearing Oxbow wetsuits and Prolimit harnesses. I am planning a different trip than usual in Februari and March. More about this soon.

I was invited by Best kiteboarding to attend the Black sea cup in Russia. A day after the Belgian championship I was already on a plane direction Moscow. Once I arrived I went with the train to Andrews place (best representative in Russia) But I lost my way somewhere in Moscow. I had now clue where I was. So I decided to take a taxi. Hard to find, but finally found one!
This weekend was the last weekend of the Belgian Championship.
Unfortunately there was not enough wind to do a second elimination.
So I stay on the second place this year.
I am packing already for my next trip. Tomorrow morning I will leave for a week to Russia for the Black Sea Cup.

Last weekend the first weekend of the Belgian championship was organized in Newport. In the Singles I ended up in the Final against Leander Vyvey. I had some nice tricks with good power. It was a close heat but unfortunately it was just not enough so I ended 2nd. In the doubles I had to go against Christophe Tack. I like his style : he rides really nice. I had a really well heat. I felt super good and just landed all my tricks. So I advanced, again to the final against Leander. Again super close heat but just not enough. So currently I am at the second place. Next weekend, if there is wind, I still have a chance to win while see
